Mental Health Social Worker

If you’re going through a difficult time, our social worker Abbie Ford can help you!

Abbie Ford is an allied health professional who helps people who are in crisis and need support. She can provide counselling, information and referrals to other services.

There are a wide range of reasons to see a social worker. Issues social workers typically become involved in are family dysfunction, parenting difficulties, child abuse, trauma, disability, unemployment, mental health problems, alcohol or drug addiction or unstable accommodation arrangements.

Social workers help people to face life's challenges, improve their wellbeing, and do their best to ensure they are treated fairly. Social workers usually see people when they are facing some sort of crisis, such as family violence, homelessness or mental health issues.

Social workers are trained at university in human behavior, families, social justice and human rights. They must meet certain professional standards and are accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
